Bookly is a Shopify-native appointment booking app designed for salons, spas, studios, and service-based businesses. It lives entirely inside your Shopify admin and storefront — no third-party platforms, no external dashboards, no redirects.

With Bookly, your customers can:

• Browse available time slots directly on your product pages
• Choose a staff member (stylist, therapist, etc.)
• Complete checkout through Shopify — paying a deposit or in full
• Receive an automated confirmation email with appointment details

As a merchant, you can:

• View and manage all bookings from the Bookly dashboard in Shopify admin
• Create manual bookings on behalf of customers
• Block off periods for breaks, vacations, or closures
• Offer group classes, recurring appointments, and deposit-based bookings
• Collect custom information from customers at booking time

1. Install Bookly from the Shopify App Store and grant the requested permissions.
2. Import your services. In the Bookly dashboard, go to Services & Add-ons → Import from Shopify. Set the duration and optional deposit, then click Import.
3. Add your staff. Go to Staff → Add Staff Member. Set their weekly availability and assign services.
4. Add the booking widget. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → navigate to a service product page → Add block → find Bookly Booking Widget → drag into position → Save.
5. Configure email notifications. Go to Settings → fill in your business name, reply-to email, and customize the confirmation template.
6. Test a booking. Visit your storefront, book a service, and confirm the booking appears in your dashboard.

The Bookly Dashboard shows upcoming bookings, today's schedule, quick stats (total bookings, upcoming count, revenue), and Google Calendar connection status.

From the Dashboard you can connect or disconnect Google Calendar. When connected, every confirmed booking creates a calendar event automatically, and cancellations remove the event.

Go to Bookings in the Bookly menu to see all appointments. Filter by status using the tabs at the top.

Creating a manual booking: Click New Booking → fill in service, staff, date, time, and customer details → Save.

Blocked periods mark a time range as unavailable across all staff — useful for public holidays or planned closures. Go to Blocked Periods → Add Blocked Period → set the date range → Save.

Force Open overrides a normally-closed day. Use it for one-off extended hours or special opening days. Go to Blocked Periods → Force Open → set the date and hours → Save.

Each service must be imported from Shopify into Bookly before appearing in the booking widget.

1. Go to Services & Add-ons → Import from Shopify
2. Search for your service product
3. Set Duration (minutes) and optional Deposit Amount
4. Click Import

If your product has variants (e.g., 30 min / 60 min), each variant can have its own duration. Add-ons are optional extras (e.g., scalp treatment) that add their duration and price to the booking. Add-ons must also be Shopify products.

Group classes let multiple customers book the same slot up to a set capacity — useful for yoga classes, workshops, or group sessions.

1. Go to Services & Add-ons → Edit the service
2. Toggle on Group Class
3. Set Maximum Capacity
4. Save

Once capacity is reached, the slot disappears from the widget. All participants receive individual confirmation emails.

Recurring bookings let customers re-book the same appointment on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule. Each recurrence creates a separate booking and Shopify order.

To enable: Services & Add-ons → Edit service → Toggle on Allow Recurring Bookings → Save.

Deposits collect a partial payment at booking time, with the remainder due at the appointment.

1. Create a Shopify product to represent the deposit (e.g., "Booking Deposit — $25").
2. In Bookly Settings → Payments, enter the Variant ID of your deposit product.
3. When importing or editing a service, enter the Deposit Amount.

When a customer books with a deposit, only the deposit product is added to their cart. The booking status becomes Deposit Paid.

Bookly sends automated confirmation emails via Resend. To send from your own domain:

1. Create an account at resend.com → Domains → Add Domain → add DNS records
2. Create an API key and provide it in Bookly Settings
3. Set your From Email to an address on your verified domain

Available placeholders: {customerName}, {serviceName}, {staffName}, {date}, {time}, {location}

Collect custom information from customers at booking time (hair length, allergies, special requests).

1. Services & Add-ons → Edit the service → Scroll to Booking Questions → Add Question
2. Enter question text and choose type: Short Text, Long Text, or Dropdown
3. Toggle Required if the customer must answer before proceeding
4. Save

Customer answers are saved to the booking record and visible in the Bookly dashboard.

1. Customer visits your service product page. The Bookly widget is displayed on the page.
2. Customer selects a staff member (if applicable) from a dropdown.
3. A calendar appears showing available dates. Greyed-out days have no availability.
4. Customer selects a date, then a time slot.
5. Optional: add-ons, recurring options, and booking questions appear.
6. Customer clicks Book Now — the service or deposit is added to their Shopify cart.
7. Customer completes Shopify checkout with any accepted payment method.
8. On payment: booking status → Confirmed, Google Calendar event created, confirmation email sent.

Can two customers book the same slot?
No. Once confirmed, the slot is removed. For group classes, slots remain available until capacity is reached.

The widget isn't showing on my product page.
Confirm the product is imported in Services & Add-ons, and that the Bookly Booking Widget block has been added to that product's template in the Theme Editor.

No time slots are showing.
Check that at least one staff member is Active with availability set for that day, and that no blocked period covers that date.

Can I change appointment duration after importing?
Yes — Services & Add-ons → Edit → update Duration → Save. Changes apply to future bookings only.

Speedr tracks:

• Missing or thin SEO titles and meta descriptions
• Images without alt text
• Thin content on product and collection pages
• Broken or missing URL structure

The Speedr Dashboard gives you an instant overview of your store's SEO health:

• Avg SEO Score — your store's overall score out of 100
• Missing SEO Titles — products and pages with no title tag set
• Images Without Alt — images missing descriptive alt text
• Items Needing Work — anything with a Poor score (<60)

Below the summary, Performance Stats breaks down the average SEO score for Products, Collections, and Pages separately, with a link to view each.

The Products SEO Score chart shows your score distribution: Good (80–100), Fair (60–79), and Poor (<60) — so you can see at a glance where to focus.

Click into Products, Collections, or Pages from the sidebar or the dashboard to see a list of every item with its SEO score. Items are sorted by score — lowest first — so the worst offenders are always at the top.

Click any item to open its SEO editor. From there you can:

• Edit the SEO title and meta description
• See a Google search preview of how the page will appear in results
• View a checklist of what's passing and what needs improvement

Changes save directly to Shopify — no publishing step required.

The Image Alt Text section lists every image across your store that is missing descriptive alt text. Alt text matters for accessibility and for image search ranking.

For each image you can:

• See a preview of the image
• Enter or edit the alt text inline
• Save changes directly to Shopify

Use clear, descriptive alt text that describes what's in the image — avoid keyword-stuffing.

The Redirects section lets you create and manage URL redirects for your Shopify store. Use redirects when:

• You rename a product or change its handle
• You delete a page that had inbound links
• You're migrating from another platform and need to preserve old URLs

To create a redirect: click Add Redirect → enter the old URL path (e.g., /products/old-name) → enter the new destination → Save.
